Transfer Station

The Solid Waste Transfer Station is located on the Lombard Dam Road for use by Vassalboro Residents, and for disposal of trash generated within Town. Town Ordinance requires each resident to obtain a vehicle decal to affix to their vehicle to identify you as a Vassalboro Resident. These decals are available at the Transfer Station by showing proof of residency. The facility is staffed by two full time employees and is open from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. To contact the Transfer Station Manager leave a telephone message at 923-3051, or email a message to

Disposal of household garbage and recyclable items are free, but fees are charged for other items listed below. Please recycle as much of your household waste as possible to save your tax dollars! The Town pays to have the waste trucked out of Town, plus we pay a per ton fee to dispose it! Many of the recyclables generate income for our Town when we sell the product. This income reduces the amount we have to raise in taxes to run the Transfer Station. Our Town Ordinance requires mandatory cardboard recycling. Collection bins for all recyclables are available just inside the Station entrance. See the staff for assistance if needed.
