Transfer Station

Residents who desire to hire the services of a hauler to pick up and deliver trash to the transfer station rather than making deliveries themselves can call Jeremy Dow at 213-5315 or John Green at 649-3216 or 923-3411, or George Hamar at 660-1619.

PLEASE NOTE: HOUSEHOLD TRASH DISPOSAL CHANGES HAVE OCCURRED AT THE TRANSFER STATION!

Effective January 24, 2019, the zero-sort recycling program has been eliminated. From this point on, put all of your zero-sort recyclables (EXCEPT CARDBOARD) in with your regular household garbage. The Town’s new trash disposal vendor called Coastal Resources of Maine, powered by Fiberight Technology and located in Hampden, will sort all of the trash that the Town sends to them and they will recycle all that they can from your waste. Let Fiberight do the work for you!

Now for the CARDBOARD…Because there is a mandatory cardboard recycling Town ordinance in effect, residents need to continue to separate the cardboard as you have always done.

That’s it! That’s all the changes. The rest of the disposal options for other than household garbage remain the same as they have been. Questions? Call George at the Transfer Station at 923-3051, or call the town office at 872-2826.

The Solid Waste Transfer Station is located on the Lombard Dam Road for use by Vassalboro Residents, and for disposal of trash generated within Town. Town Ordinance requires each resident to obtain a vehicle decal to affix to their vehicle to identify you as a Vassalboro Resident. These decals are available at the Transfer Station by showing proof of residency. The facility is open from 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. To contact the Transfer Station Manager leave a telephone message at 923-3051, or email a message to vasstransfer@fairpoint.net.
