Vassalboro is a community nestled between the banks of the Kennebec River and the West Basin of China Lake. Settled in 1760 and incorporated in 1774,Vassalboro has developed into a community committed to quality of life, economic opportunity, and a sound education system.
     Our town has frontage on a major river (the Kennebec) and on four lakes and ponds and, as such, has outstanding recreational opportunities. It is also home to Duratherm Window Corporation and Kennebec Bean Company, Inc. and has some of the larger dairy farms in the Central Maine area.
